This delightful antique German candy container depicts a traditional woodcutter figure and dates from the early 1900s with the original Made in Germany label on the bottom of his boots. The woodcutter is dressed in an orange coat trimmed in white, paired with blue trousers and black boots. He wears a matching orange cap and carries his sparce feather tree sprig at his side. His face is wonderful. He has a very nice good quality face that is in excellent condition. With the exception of a small scratch, his hands are also in excellent condition. His candy compartment is clean and structurally sound, and the two halves fit together securely. This is an excellent and well-preserved example of a German folk candy container — both a charming decorative figure and a fine addition to a holiday or early candy container collection.
